Barrel fermented white

Grapes from a single vineyard of vines of over 85 years old, the altitude of the vineyard  is of  650 meters above sea level. Due to the age of the vineyard the production is very limited but of extremely high quality and the harvest is done by hand and then grapes go on to a selection table.

The fermentation is in French oak barrels and lasts for 15 days between 16ºc & 19ºc each barrel has its own cool system. Then six months of aging in barrel on it lees. A limited production of 15-20 barrels per year are made.

Alcohol: 13.00%
Grape Varieties: 90% Malvasia 10% Viura.
Colour: Clean & bright. Golden straw with greenish tinge on the edge of the glass.
Aroma: Green apple (granny smith), pear (Poire William), hints of citrus peel fruits hints of vanilla, toasted pastry, elegant
Palate: Fresh fruit apple, pear really nice acidity, oak is really well integrated beautiful toasted notes towards the end. Beautifully made wine well balanced, enjoyable, fresh, stylish and really long.   
Production: 3 - 5000 bottles, dependant on the vintage.

Interesting fact: On the inauguration of Guggenheim museum in Bilbao Luis Alegre Barrel fermented white was the white wine that was served.
