~ Domaine de Laxé, Côtes de Gascogne, Organic conversion ~

Désiré Estrade, our grandfather and his sons, came from Lamtar - near Oran in Algeria, to Fourcès in 1962. They built this estate by hard work to turn it into how it is today.
They have cleared land, replanted all the vineyard and built wineries in order to produce independently top quality wines.

Thanks to them, Rémy and Eric could build on these solid foundations in order to produce now top of the range Côtes de Gascogne wines for your greater pleasure.
We combine tradition and modernity as did our grandfather in his time, we are continuing today to develop Domaine de Laxé with the same determination, by maturing our wines in our cellar and offering them to the whole world.

The whole process from the vine planting to the bottling is carried out here on this site in order to offer you enjoyment of the best quality.

A Family  History
We plant our vines very carrefully thanks to a know-how acquired from generation to generation, depending on grape varieties, soil and climate. Quality and quantity are good from the first harvests.
We use accurate carefully considered winegrowing methods, using few treatments - only when absolutely necessary.

We harvest by night because of the lower grape temperature that limits the potential damage due to air, light and heat. It also avoids us having to cool the grape artificially, which is also energy-saving.
Our winery is built to allow us to control the temperature of musts and wine throughout the whole wine-making process, which is the key to the success of our Gascony wines.
The quality, safety, and well-being of our employees are essential for us at every stage of the wine-making process.
All those stages of production are carefully considered and monitored to ensure for you the best quality.
We respect environmental rules, especially regarding the storage and the treatment of waste products from the winery.
Know how - Quality – Environment

Our vineyard
Domaine de Laxé’s 70 hectares extends over clay-limestone deep soil plateaux and hills where vines can be grown due to a good balance between dry and wet periods of the year. The climate of this part of Gascony is temperate, with ideal rain quantity for the vine - not too much rain from the west near the Ocean and not too little rain from the east, with amazing autumns which allow an accurate maturity and perfect harvesting conditions.
This alchemy makes the area between Montréal du Gers, Condom and Mézin, one of the best and most coveted winemaking areas in Southwest France, where quality and quantity meet to produce from easy-to-drink wines to great white and red Gascony wines too.
We associate typical grape varieties from the Southwest such as Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng and Tannat, with prestigious and world-renowned grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, in order to perfect our wines comprising the Classics range, the Friandise range and our top-of-the-range Millésime selection matured in oak barrels.

Let discover our wines:

Friandise : Medium sweet wines - White - Red - Rosé
